After the success of last year’s race, this will be the third year of ‘Fergal's 10 Miler’ event through the rural landscape of Broughderg and Davagh Forest. The course provides a great challenge for runners of all abilities. Due to the current ongoing construction at Davagh forest park we have had to change the route slightly this year. The events begins and finishes at the Broughderg community and tourism centre, with 4 miles traversing through Davagh forest park itself. This event will be run in memory of Fergal Mulgrew and is hosted by Acorns AC.
Every year we nominate a different local charity with this year’s charity being S.T.E.P.S (Suicide.Talking.Educating.Preventing.Support) . Any Money raised will be equally split between S.T.E.P.S and Acorns AC.
S.T.E.P.S (Suicide.Talking.Educating.Preventing.Support) aims to raise awareness of suicide and mental health, Addressing the stigma of Suicide and mental health and to help build the community to deal with suicide and mental health. We hope people will know who to turn to if they have concerns about their friends, family or colleague’s mental health.
